The Research Associate works in collaboration with Professor Ian Gold, the Research Supervisor in the Department of Philosophy, to develop and conduct research projects, and is responsible for achieving the project’s objectives. As required, the Research Associate is responsible for the functional supervision of the Research Assistant(s) and/or Undergraduate/Graduate Research Assistant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
(i.) Develops and conducts research projects and protocols, processes and procedures as delegated by the Research Supervisor.

(ii.) Establishes the design and development of research methods, data collection and analysis, and the interpretation of results.

(iii.) Plans and leads the development of experiments, questionnaires, the recruitment and training of interviewers, data collection, test administration, conducting interviews, planning and preparation of research documentation, laboratory work, and compilation of data.

(iv.) Develops and implements new methods of analysis or research.

(v.) Leads the analysis and interpretation of research data and disseminates the results. Writes research reports.

(vi.) Writes theoretical or methodological reports, papers or articles related to research activities.

(vii.) Responsible for the quality and results of their own work and the work of those they oversee.

(viii.) Organizes, distributes and verifies the work of research staff and participates in their training, including Research Assistants and Undergraduate/Graduate Student Research Assistants

(ix.) Performs various administrative tasks related to the project.

(x.) May also perform tasks of Research Assistant 1 & 2.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Possesses advanced specialized knowledge of the field or discipline acquired through a PhD Degree.
