Milly’s Port Hope is looking to hire a Butcher, Meat, Cheese, and Deli Specialist

Position Type: Full-Time

Reports to: Executive Chef

Job Summary:
**Responsibilities**:

- Skillfully prepare and portion various cuts of meat, ensuring precision and consistency.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality and freshness in all meat products.
- Responsible for trimming, deboning, and ensuring proper storage of meats.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while handling and processing meats.
- Handle an assortment of cheese varieties, understanding flavor profiles and proper storage conditions.
- Assist customers with recommendations and knowledge about different cheeses and deli items.
- Slice, package, and display deli products with precision and attention to detail.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or spoilage.
- Follow strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic workspace.
- Properly store and handle perishable products to prevent contamination and waste.
- Comply with health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for both staff and customers.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their specific meat and cheese preferences.
- Offer product recommendations, cooking tips, and recipe ideas to enhance the customer experience.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Butcher, Meat, Cheese, and Deli Specialist, preferably in a high-end market or gourmet food establishment.
- Strong knowledge of various cuts of meat, cheese varieties, and deli products.
- Exceptional knife skills and precise cutting techniques.
- Food handling certification and knowledge of food safety regulations.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $21.50-$24.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
