Housekeeper/cleaner

Ashwood Glen is a new, progressive private school in Burlington for students from Toddler age group to Grade 8.

We are seeking **Housekeeper and Kitchen Helper** who:

- Are motivated, positive and enjoy cleaning
- Work well alone and with rest of the staff without direct supervision
- Have a clean criminal record check
- Have a valid driver's license
- Are looking for a full time job 5 days a week
- Fluency in English to read and write

**Duties and Responsibilities as a Housekeeper**:

- Cleaning and sanitation
- Daily periodic sanitation of all the highly touched areas such as doorknobs, tables and etc for the whole School
- Ensuring washrooms are in good condition after every use; especially after scheduled break times
- Changing of dirty towels & restocking of tissue paper & toilet paper, emptying garbage pails and refilling chemicals, etc
- Daily laundry of linens and bedding for Children’s House
- Daily help with food delivery to classrooms.
- Ensuring the hallways are in condition, especially on inclement weather days.
- Daily playground checks in the morning for the things listed in the checklist.
- Opening the locks of the playground and taking some toys and bikes out for the children.
- Taking the garbage bin on Friday and placing it outside the playground door for the cleaners to empty it.
- Filling out the forms and PDF’s for attendance, playground verification and playground checks.
- Prepare the disinfectant solution every Monday for the teachers and place it in the staff room.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Management.

**Duties and Responsibilities as a Kitchen Helper**:

- Mopping and sweeping the kitchen
- Taking out the garbage and replacing garbage bags
- Washing, drying, and putting away all dishes and kitchen utensils
- Unloading food supplies from delivery truck
- Unloading coked food delivered by food catering company
- Serving delivered food to students and teachers in the classrooms
- Cleaning refrigerators as needed

**Salary**: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Burlington, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- housekeeping and/or kitchen help: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Canadian Citizenship status (required)
