**Position Summary**

The Estimator is responsible for reviewing field reports and creating break/fix estimates for maintenance services under the direct supervision of the business unit manager.

**Primary Responsibilities (Essential Duties)**

Develop estimates from field reports to submit to customers' facility maintenance divisions.

Maintain accuracy of takeoffs, estimates, and quotations of products through self-review of project specifications, material and labour items, and the final quote itself.

Forward requests for information (RFI's) as required to customers and owners for items that need to be clarified but could affect the overall cost.

Obtain pricing for materials and from necessary subcontractors.

Enter cost and selling totals in a database for tracking.

Where pre-determined standards are not available, responsible for providing reasonable estimates.

Informs immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or database.

**Secondary Responsibilities**

Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.

Maintain adequate lead time on takeoff/estimate preparation.

Sort and file plans and specifications for long-term storage

Attends departmental meetings as required.

**Qualifications**

Basic construction knowledge preferred

Degree in Construction Related field or equivalent experience preferred

Ability to read drawings, decipher field reports, utilize excel
