Niagara, Canada Parker's General Contracting Services Inc. Full time

A framer is responsible for devising work plans and assembling the framework structure essential for constructing houses and other facilities.

**Education, Certifications, and Experience**
- High school diploma or equivalent with other vocational or professional certification
- 2-3+ years of framing experience
- Work from Heights Required (Can be obtained prior to start date)

**Responsibilities**:

- Must be able to use a variety of tools hand tools (saws, hammers, clamps), power tools (grinders, nail guns), and measuring devices (tape measures, carpenter’s square)
- Must be able to follow instructions and ensure all safety requirements are followed and met, and wear all required protective equipment
- Must be capable of communicating with co-workers and supervisors about the material, safety hazards, and equipment in a proactive manner
- Tracking and adequately managing all company tools and equipment assigned to you
- Must be able to set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures.
- Must be able to complete all assignments/tasks and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
- Must have knowledge of residential and commercial framing
- Must have knowledge of building codes
- Must be able to analyze construction plans, spot potential structural problems, and find ways to make repairs to existing structures
- Must have a good understanding of basic math and be able to determine the height, width, and length of materials needed to create structurally sound building components
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization of job sites, trucks, and equipment.

**Skills and Physical Capabilities Required**:

- Able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be fit and have good physical endurance
- Must be able to stand and/or be on your feet 8+ hours a day
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, crawl, climb, crouch, and kneel repeatedly
- Problem-solving skills
- Superior listening and verbal communication skills

**Cell Phone Requirements**
- A cell phone with a data plan is required.

**Tools and Equipment Required**
- Must wear steel-toed boots
- Must have a tool belt and basic hand toolset

**Transportation/Travel Information**:

- Valid driver's license
- Able to travel to job sites in the Niagara Region and surrounding areas (Hamilton, Toronto, Misssauga Etc). Job sites vary.
- Able to travel out of town as required for prolonged periods of time on short notice (1 month or longer)
- Note: Food and Accommodations are paid for by the company during travel.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 40 per week

**Salary**: $24.00-$26.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
- Overtime pay
