**Reporting to the Restaurant Manager the Host position will be responsible for greeting and seating guests, and offers assistance to team members as required during service according to the standards of the Pan Pacific Hotel.**:

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

**The key responsibilities of the Greeter include but are not limited to**:

- Maintains professional internal/external guest service: smiles, creates eye contact, and uses employee/guest names
- Answers telephone and takes reservations using Open Table.
- Confirm reservations
- Draw up floor plans
- Complete minor to go orders
- Greets and seats guests; Assigns server stations and duties
- Be fully versed and apprised of the menus
- Relays information to Server or Manager; Performs administration duties of restaurant supervision
- Attends to guest complaints; Assists Manager on Duty, Servers and Expeditors where necessary
- Ensures all duties on task list are completed; To ensure the buffet is set up correctly
- Ability to upsell hotel food & beverage items to guests
- Ensures attentiveness to each table at all times
- Knows the product & services their own hotel offers so that they can respond to guest/customer’s enquiries and promote the product and services
- Trains new staff in proper procedures
- Understands the need and willingness to work in other related outlets during peak periods when required (ie. Coal Harbour Bar, Room Service and/or Banquets)
- Performs other related duties as required

- Individual must be able to work with mínimal supervision and be highly self-motivated.
- Must be extremely well organized and detail oriented and completes all duties in a quick and efficient manner.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills; contributes an energetic and positive attitude to the hotel atmosphere.
- Works as a team player in high stress environment
- Maintain professional business confidentiality as required.
- Conflict resolution skills; Ability to ‘read’ guests’ expectations and requirements
- Maintain highest standard of professionalism, ethics, grooming and attitude towards guests, clients & other associates.
- Must be physically fit; Involves long periods of walking and standing.

**Qualifications and Technical Experience**:

- Two (2) years Food and Beverage experience in a similar restaurant setting required
- “Serving it Right” Certificate must be obtained; Knowledge of Open Table, Micros/Point of Sales system an asset
- Good command of the English language; Second language an asset.
- Schedule: Flexibility Required: Rotating Shifts, Morning, Evening shifts, Weekends & Public Holidays required
