**Position Description**

**Title: Janitor**

**Position Purpose**:To help us reach our goals, we are looking for energetic, motivated individuals to join our team in Truro, NS in the entry-level role of Janitor.

**Principle Accountabilities**
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests on very short notice
- Painting as needed of all walls, trim and doors
- Clean fountains and eye wash stations
- Empty outside garbage barrels
- Clean cafeteria, all stairs, hallways, washrooms and training rooms
- Clean various office areas
- Clean floors and vents
- Wash walls and dust
- Gather and empty garbage bins
- Service and supply washrooms
- Clean all windows and mirrors
- Strip and polish floors during shutdowns
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
- Move furniture, equipment and supplies
- Communicate need for major repairs and any supplies or equipment needed
- Set up, arrange and remove decorations, tables, and chairs to prepare for events such as celebrations and meetings
- Other tasks as assigned.

**Essential Skills and Experience**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent organizational skills
- 2+ years janitorial experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexible, willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises
- Self-motivated and able to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision
