**DESCRIPTION**

The Junior Estimator will be responsible for assisting with the development of project cost estimates, project estimate reviews, and revisions to reflect contract scope changes and extra work orders on the project. This position contributes to the successful execution of projects by ensuring comprehensive and competitive bids, facilitating effective communication, and promoting collaboration within the estimating team The positions will be based in Nisku, Edmonton, AB.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
- Collaborate with estimating team members to analyze project specifications and requirements
- Assist in preparing detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for construction projects
- Research material and labor costs to ensure accurate budget calculations.
- Evaluate project scope, plans, and drawings to identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- Review vendor and subcontractor quotes to assess pricing and feasibility.
- Support in assembling bid packages and ensuring compliance with proposal requirements
- Contribute to bid submission processes, including documentation and timely submission
- Assist in tracking project costs and providing updates to estimating team.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and information sharing.
- Participate in continuous learning to improve estimating techniques and industry knowledge.
- Other duties as assigned.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in related field.
- 1-2 years’ experience of construction estimating.
- Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven, and an acceptable driving record as determined by Michels Review Team
- Experience with Primavera, Microsoft Project, Blue Beam and AutoCAD
