Lucan, Canada Lucan Area Heritage & Donnelly Museum Full time

The Lucan Area Heritage and Donnelly Museum has operated since 1995 working to conserve and exhibit the history of Lucan, the surrounding area, as well as the prominent figures and stories within.

Though not necessary, study, experience, or interest in the fields of history, public history, museum studies, conservation, library studies, and other related fields would be an asset.

Preference will be given to members of the Canadian Government's Employment Equity Groups.

The Donnelly Museum is in Lucan, ON, a rural community with no access to public transit. This position cannot be worked remotely, and so staff will be responsible for finding their way to the museum.

Additionally, as this is a Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations funded position, applicants **MUST** meet the following criteria:

- are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible);
- are legally entitled to work in Canada;
- are between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
- are willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment;
- will not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) during the Young Canada Works (YCW) work assignment;
- have been a full-time high school, college, CEGEP or university student (as defined by their educational institution) in the semester preceding the YCW work assignment; and
- intend to return to full-time studies in the semester following the YCW work assignment.
- Will be available to work Wednesday through Sunday from May 8th, 2024 until August 25th, 2024

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 16 weeks

**Salary**: $16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week

- Night shift
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Lucan, ON N0M 2J0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
