**Junior Buyer**

**$23-$25 / Hour, **Monday - Friday**

Weldco-Beales Manufacturing designs and manufactures specialized heavy equipment attachments for the construction, forestry, mining, scrap recycling, road maintenance** **and resource industries throughout Canada, the USA and internationally. This position will report to the **Production Planner**

What you will do:

- Assist Buyer with research and compiling market intelligence on product, prices, and availability.
- Assist the Buyer with establishing benchmark key performance indicators to measure and manage vendor performance
- Audit, manage, and optimize inventory levels by ensuring stock levels are accurate
- Coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services for projects, equipment, tools, parts and supplies.
- Request quotes and negotiate prices with suppliers
- Maintain frequent communications with suppliers to ensure deliveries are on schedule
- Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price
- Resolve discrepancies by comparing purchase orders to delivery documentation to obtain credits and refunds
- Work in coordination with other departments; manufacturing, engineering, sales, shipping / receiving, and accounting for interdepartmental tasks including but not limited to: Active participation in inventory counts and production meetings
- Perform other duties as required.

Your qualifications:

- A minimum of 1 years of related experience
- Purchasing/Production experience is an asset

- Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes for manufacturing is an asset
- Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
- Time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent safety record
