We are currently looking for a
** Telecom Supervisor** to join our Regional Operations team in a permanent position. Reporting to the Manager, Substation Operations, you will be responsible for supporting the Manager and the Director, Regional Operations in implementing the business unit goals, objectives, and strategies by providing leadership, direction, and supervision to the Telecom Team.

**As the Telecom Supervisor you will**:

- Review work methods and ensure appropriate methods are followed.
- Provide training and development for team; monitor the continued improvement of operations and staff performance.
- Be responsible for supporting the development of targets and programs.
- Ensure the administration of procedures, applicable legislation and the collective agreement are met.
- Monitor work progress and ensure appropriate tools and equipment are available to meet work program needs and maintained in proper and safe working conditions.
- Develop and monitor effectiveness of the health, safety and environmental program.
- Participate or lead accident/incident investigations as required and initiate corrective action.
- Ensure completion of/or conduct safety analyses to identify and safeguard hazards for the job not covered by established procedures. Advise Manager as required.
- Leadership, direction, coaching and counselling to team involved in all facets of the execution of protection & control, station maintenance, and emergency response work within the region.
- Allocate work, people, and other resources to projects or initiatives as required, providing instruction and guidelines, as necessary.
- Review workload performance through reporting systems and by observing the overall effectiveness of the work group. Take steps to initiate corrections required.
- Provide strategic human resource/labour relations management, including selection, and act as the contact for union issues.
- Direct accountability for cost effective and timely completion of the work program.
- Determine various technical, labour, and scheduling requirements of assigned projects, collaborating with various departments and resources to incorporate into teamwork program.
- Interpret and implement standards, procedures, and work strategies for commissioning, maintaining, or modifying station equipment. Arrange for installation and commissioning as required.
- Ensure work group schedules are prioritized and scheduled to align with the business unit priorities; administer contract work within the unit.
- Maintain Customer relationships through direct contact with external customers in the assigned geographic area and continuously seek out opportunities to improve Customer satisfaction.

You will be responsible for personal safety, that of co-workers and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives in your area.

You must be available for rotational supervisory standby and demonstrate your ongoing commitment to the Capabilities Development Process.
