Calling all history buffs The Lutz Mountain Heritage Museum is searching for students to help with its day-to-day operations throughout the summer. Spend your summer interacting with local historical artifacts and sharing your community with tourists from around the world

**About the Museum and Meeting House**

The Lutz Mountain Heritage Museum and Meeting House is a non-profit which houses both a local history museum and a community center. Housed in a 140-year-old heritage building, The Lutz Mountain Heritage Museum was established to preserve and display artefacts relating to the history of Lutes Mountain and its environs for the benefit of present and future generations. Boasting three floors full of incredible artifacts and a genealogy and research library, it truly is the hot spot for everything you need to know about Moncton’s social, rural, agricultural, and industrial history

In addition to the museum, the Lutz Mountain Heritage Museum and Meeting House also provides the local community with many fun events. Throughout the summer, we host various food/take-out events, farmer’s markets, and even private functions

**About the Position**

Rate of pay: $14.75/hr

**Responsibilities**

Successful applicants will be responsible for the following:

- Providing tours of the museum to visiting guests;
- Researching various artifacts and local history;
- Assisting with genealogical research;
- Assisting with the cataloging of artifacts;
- Assisting with photographing artifacts;
- Assisting with the management and upkeep of social medias;
- Assisting with the day-to-day upkeep of the museum (i.e.: cleaning museum and artifacts, rotating artifacts, creating new displays, etc.);
- Helping to prepare for and host community functions.

**Criteria**
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Must be a Senior in High School or a University/College Student
- Must have strong organizational, and intrapersonal skills
- Must have strong oral/written communication skills
- Strong social media skills are an asset
- Bilingualism is an asset
- Weekend and occasional evening availability
