The Schroeder Arthritis Institute is the largest multidisciplinary arthritis hub in Canada, integrating medical, surgical and basic science aspects of Orthopedics, Hand, Osteoporosis and Rheumatology with a goal of making a global impact in discovery, learning and patient care. The Institute comprises of 51 scientists and clinician-scientists, 113 trainees and 200 staff.

Working under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Clinical Research Manager and Clinical Research Coordinator, the **Clinical Research Study Assistant** (**CRSA**) will assist research related to Orthopaedics. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: planning, implementing and coordinating all aspects of data collection; participating partially or fully in initial project design, setting of research goals, selection and development of procedures; may be responsible for study recruitment; assisting in interpretation of results and preparation of material for presentation, publication and/or grants; may assess literature in the field of study; may perform study-related administrative tasks.

**Qualifications**
- Community College Diploma in health or science-related field; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Minimum three (3) months related experience; clinical research experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory procedures related to collecting, handling and storing specimens
- Knowledgeable with ICH-GCP guidelines
- Certification of competency in venipuncture is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization, prioritization skills ability to learn quickly and work independently
- Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
- Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks
- Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
