Human Resource Officer (EEPF)

**Core Functions**:
The Human Resources Officer is responsible for providing professional and administrative support to the Eeyou Eenou Police Force’s (EEFP) human resources related activities.
**Functional Responsibilities**:

- Open employee files, ensuring all mandatory documents are gathered and filed appropriately.
- Provide all pertinent documentation and information to the Payroll department and other HR professionals required for payroll processing.
- Monitor and produce letters for probation completion, employment attestations, salary modifications, etc.; inform Payroll of changes when necessary.
- Produce memos for HR updates to be distributed to staff.
- Support the communication and monitoring of the performance assessment process.
- Provide basic support in administering HR policies, the Collective Agreement, working conditions by-laws, guidelines, rules, and procedures.
- Support logistics for recruitment functions, including but not limited to job and career fairs (École Nationale de Police, Cree School Board, Apatisiiwin Skills Development, etc.).
- Take a flexible approach to HR-related issues and act promptly to ensure situations are managed effectively.

**Administrative Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the administration of premiums and compensation, ensuring accuracy, compliance with policies, and timely processing.
- Compile and verify information required for the payment of premiums and salary increases, coordinating with Payroll.
- Ensure that all adjustments related to premiums and compensation are documented and processed accurately.
- Update the housing database by maintaining and updating the housing/tenants list and producing lease agreements.
- Ensure accurate housing records are maintained.
- Work closely with Material Resources, the EEPF Administrative Assistant, and Capital Works on housing matters.
- Notify the manager of upcoming due dates for performance evaluations.
- Monitor personnel assessments and follow up on overdue evaluations.
- Compile performance assessment information and submit the results to Payroll for any adjustments.
- Assist in updating and entering employee information into the HCM software (e.g., transfers, work locations, performance evaluations).
- Utilize Dayforce to review, update, and maintain employee records, ensuring all necessary adjustments are accurately reflected in employee files.
- Perform file audits to ensure all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.
- Maintain personnel files for non-civilian employees.
- Provide administrative support to other members of the HR department.

**Other Responsibilities**:

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in relevant areas of responsibility.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- College diploma in Administration or a related field.

**Experience**:

- One to three years of relevant work experience.

**Language**:

- Fluency in English.
- Fluency in spoken Cree is an asset.
- Fluency in French is an asset.

**Knowledge and Abilities**:

**Additional Requirements**:

- Typical office setting with no unusual physical demands.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
