Beamish Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Asphalt Foreperson reporting to their office in Elliot Lake, ON. The Foreperson will require a high level of motivation, professionalism, and independence. This is a full-time permanent position available with competitive wages, incentives, and a benefits package.

**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide supervision and direction to the crew in order to meet quality and production standards.
- Coordinate equipment, material, labour, and trucking with the Superintendents and Construction Manager.
- Review contract drawings and plans to ensure specifications are followed.
- Review and adhere to project schedules.
- Complete daily supervisor diary and timesheet.
- Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
- Delegate tasks and assignments to the crew.
- Coordinate with asphalt plant personnel regarding logistics.
- Other duties as assigned.

**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:

- Valid G license.
- AZ/DZ is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years experience in the civil construction field with asphalt paving experience.
- Experience in a management position is considered an asset.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Ability to coordinate asphalt placement to adhere to project design specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints and scopes of work.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, and Human Resources policies.
- Knowledge of asphalt placement processes both by hand and machine.
- Ability to manage crew size of 5 people or more.
- Ability to mentor new employees and create a positive environment for developmental growth.
