**The Opportunity - Production Lead Hand (Afternoon)**

The area of work can be in any area of the plant operation including but not limited to: Slicing, Trimming, Pumping and Tumbling, Raw Packaging, Defrost and Cookroom / Cook Packaging.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities - Production Lead Hand (Afternoon)**
- Oversee a team of general labourers and machine operators and run the lines according to the planned schedule
- Work within all HACCP and GMP guidelines maintaining a high level of integrity and a food safe environment at all times
- Facilitate smooth line changes
- Check all data relating to the product scheduled to be processed including expiry dates and other packaging details
- Work as a member of the team on the line and ensure the line operates as a team
- Resolve machine problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and ensure efficient operation of the line
- Ensure all employees work and operate within all HACCP and GMP guidelines
- Ensure the production goals are achieved and that product specifications are met, report any deviations
- Ensure all production equipment is functioning properly and report any issues to the manager or maintenance
- Coordinate, train and supervise production line employees
- Requisition materials and supplies as necessary
- Complete paperwork including production and quality reports

**Requirements**:

- **Must be available to work from 3:00pm to 12:00am - additional hours may be required due to production requirements**
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in multifaceted production environment dealing with high speed machinery and a multicultural work staff environment
- Prior experience operating food processing machinery is an asset
- Able to lift/handle up to 23kg / 50 lbs
- A good understanding of English
- A mature outlook and good work ethic is essential
- OSSD or Grade 12 is preferred but not essential
