Assistant Buyer

Greetings from Toronto Fresh Food Located in Scarborough, we are a regular Chinese food factory through HACCP certification for busy professionals while also emphasizing health and nutrition. We diligently serve market store and warehouse store chains with our cold-chain DSD services. Due to business development needs, we are looking for one production assistant/buyer.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Forecast product demands and maintain adequate stock levels
- Maintain and build sound relationships with vendors
- Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements with vendors
- Source new vendors, review products, and negotiate production schedule/product availability, prices, discounts, credit terms, and freight arrangements
- Resolve product warranty claims and quality concerns with internal customers and vendors
- Negotiate and coordinate local, cross border and overseas logistics including consolidation of shipments
- Ensure database and marketing material product accuracy

**Qualifications**
- Possess excellent communication and organizational skills
- Good negotiation skills and a fast learner
- Dedicated, motivated and self-driven individual
- Dependable team player that works well with others professionally
- Advanced computer skills, with working experience in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Fluent in both Chinese and English

Fast-paced environment, ability to work under pressure, prioritize, adhere to tight deadlines, and attention to detail.

**Salary**: $16.55-$19.00 per hour

- Purchasing: 1 year (preferred)
