**Job description**:

- Assist in analyzing financial data, trends, and performance metrics.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to the finance team.
- Contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budgetary performance and report on variances.
- Aid in maintaining accurate financial records.
- Assist with reconciliations and ensure compliance with accounting principles.
- Work on expense tracking and reimbursement processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for the Management team.
- Input financial data into systems and databases.
- Preparation of Commission payout for advisors.
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with CIRO, internal policies, and financial reporting requirements.
- Review, prepare, and post monthly journal entries including working with other teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of accruals.
- Assist with the bi-weekly payroll process.
- Other duties as assigned by the reporting manager.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting roles within IIROC or MFDA registered firms.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices specific to the financial securities industry, including knowledge of IIROC or MFDA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Professional certification such as CPA or progress toward certification is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written in English and French (an asset).
