**Job Overview**
The Head Miller / Mill Superintendent is responsible for efficient daily milling activities for the two milling units at Primo Foods Inc. To produce the highest quality of Semolina for our Pasta Manufacturing plant. The Head Miller / Mill Superintendent will be responsible for all aspects of the Milling Operations, from organizing staff, ordering parts, organizing maintenance work, the sanitation of the Mills and all SQF, GMP, HACCP and CFIA requirements and regulations.
**Responsibilities**
- Supervise the safe and efficient operation of the milling department
- Adjust, maintain and repair all milling equipment Train and develop milling staff
- To produce semolina to specified quality consistently maintaining excellent extraction rates. Performs overall adjustments to the Milling equipment.
- Co-ordinate raw materials, semolina and by-product with other departments and companies.
- Monitor and report finished product quality and extraction every shift & daily totals
- Optimize mill yields, moistures, capacity and product quality
- Maintain a safe working environment and working conditions.
- Prepare daily monthly reports, physical inventory
- Reconcile inventory monthly
- Maintain employee attendance records and hours worked for payroll, as well as scheduling of hourly staff
- Maintain records & reports, policies and procedures
- Assist other departments as business needs arise
- Responsible for maintaining Mill Sanitation and documentation.
- 9-12 Direct reports
- Any additional duties that may be required
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Requires an excellent command of the following: leadership, problem solving, self-motivation and organizational skills
- Proven experience in the Flour Milling Industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook) required.
- Possess strong communication skills
- Attention to detail & trouble shooting skills
- Previous experience in a unionized workplace.
- 5 to 10 Years of Flour Milling Experience
- Durum milling experience would be considered a must
- Supervisory experience is required. 5-10 years
- Food Science and Milling Science degree is a requirement
**Additional Requirements**
- Work in accordance with local/provincial/Federal legislation
- Understands and is accountable for full compliance with Health Safety rules and regulations.
- The position requires walking potentially long distances, and climbing ladders and stairs, working with tools and working within extreme temperatures
- The physical requirements of the job requires ability to climb stairs, prolonged periods of standing and sitting, computer work, meeting deadlines, providing calculated information, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, working adjusted hours, and working as instructed.
- May be required to lift 55 lbs. / 22 kg.
- Shift work may be required to fulfill business needs.
- Weekend work is required.
- On Call 24/7 for Milling Operations.
- Relocation support is not available for this position.
- Must be able to provide own transportation to and from work.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
