The Laboratory Technician will support the lead laboratory technician and science department faculty. Support inventory of science department equipment and materials. Provide in-class support for hands-on science activities, instruction, and assistance.

This position is part-time - 20 hours per week during regular school hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).

**Job Duties**:

- Setup/clean-up of laboratory activities
- Preparation of laboratory solutions and other materials
- In-class supervision of students (mainly grades 5-8, with some secondment to Upper School and/or St. Anne’s School)
- Inventory of lab supplies and equipment
- Writing/revising laboratory procedures
- Testing future laboratory procedures
- Assist with various other tasks as required
- Responsible for personal health & safety and that of others

**Skills**:

- Chemical Lab Technician Diploma and/or BSc in chemistry/biology required
- WHMIS certified with advanced training in Occupational Health and Safety
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer database programs
- Good organizational, communication and problem-solving skills necessary
- CPR/First Aid trained
- A current Vulnerable Sector Screening reference check is required
