**Position Summary**:
In collaboration with schools and the Specialized Learning Supports team, the Intercultural Consultant provides multilingual and intercultural liaison services to support the educational needs of students whose primary or first language is not English. This position provides first language services and cultural bridging in the Arabic language and culture.

**Job Duties/Responsibilities**:

- supporting the integration of new English language learners into the educational system
- facilitating effective intercultural communication between schools and families
- promoting understanding of how cross-cultural, linguistic and social-emotional factors may affect student learning and behavior
- providing liaison and referral services to community agencies, parenting programs and cultural workshop

**Education/Qualifications**:

- a diploma in a related field
- a minimum of one year related experience
- experience working with students and families, preferably in an educational environment
- fluency in Arabic and English
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills

**Rate of Pay**:
$2,502.50 - $3,192.70 bi-weekly

**Closing**:

Access to a vehicle for travel between various sites will be required.
