**JOB TITLE**:Material Handler

**FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY**:
The Material Handler will ensure that any necessary materials are moved and / or delivered **accurately, efficiently and safely**. Duties include loading and unloading inventory, managing and cataloguing inventory, and operating different types of machinery.

**MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Operates safely all lift devices licensed on as directed by Dock Supervisor
- Loads and unloads merchandise from trailers
- Ensures accuracy of all goods handled through record verification matching inventory to purchase order numbers and / or invoices
- Communicates effectively with couriers
- Lift cartons and other items (up to 50lbs)
- Stores materials accurately in appropriate areas
- Selects required materials from storage areas for fulfillment
- Fulfills orders accurately by packaging necessary materials and preparing them for shipment
- Prepares barcode and inventory control information accurately for pallets and for shipping
- Detects and reports faulty operation defective or unusual material conditions
- Manages and catalogues inventory accurately while consistently updating records
- Maintains a professional and clean machine along with daily checks
- Complies with safety regulations including (but not limited to):

- identifying and resolving safety concerns within the scope of the role
- inspecting and reporting the safety of equipment, workplace conditions and activities
- reporting all accidents or near miss situations
- educating pedestrians about forklift safety
- Proactively seeking out other areas to help when assignments are complete
- Performs other related duties

**EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**:
**EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- College education in Logistics or Supply Chain
- Valid forklift license coupled with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Proficient in Microsoft Office especially work and excel
- Experience of fulfillment processes and practices will be an asset
- Experience in use of scanners, barcode readers, warehouse management software, as well as other digital equipment and systems will be an asset
