We are currently seeking an **Environmental, Health and Safety Analyst** to join our EHS Team at our Goderich Salt Mine site in Goderich, Ontario. This is not a fly in / fly out position.

The Goderich Mine is located 1,800 feet under Lake Huron on the shores of Goderich, Ontario. It is the largest underground salt mine in the world and has been operating since 1959. This location employs over 500 people and annually produces 6.5 million tons of highway de-icing salt and chemical salt. It is transports product to customers around the Great Lakes and along the St. Lawrence Seaway via vessel, rail and roads. The salt is also used to make plastics, detergents, disinfectants, and other important products.

Goderich is named Canada’s Prettiest Town and is best known for its stunning sunsets. Goderich is a lakeside community of 8,000 people located approximately 1 hour from London & Stratford, Ontario and a 1 ½ hour drive from Kitchener-Waterloo.

This position serves as a member of the Environmental, Health and Safety team for the Goderich Mine. This position will be accountable for ensuring effective management of risk throughout the Goderich Mine and interacting with key risk stakeholders. This position manages the process of identifying, measuring and managing the Mine’s key risk activities, developing reports and plans, analyzing risk problems, defining and overseeing implementation of the risk solutions that help to ensure the health and safety of the workplace, and optimize operations.

**How will you contribute to the team?**
- Design and implement an overall risk management process for the Goderich Mine site.
- Review, record and analyze the company risks based on HSE and business aspects
- Make recommendations to ensure adherence to legal requirements, standards and organizational objectives as appropriate.
- Remain up-to-date on related regulations and codes
- Perform inspections and initial assessments of cause and effects and make recommendation.
- Assist in the development of safety and environmental standards and guidelines based on risk and mitigation.
- Document and maintain risk management logs
- Set up meetings and agenda in support of risk management and business improvements.
- Provide timely updates of records or logs to affected parties and employees.
- Assist in preparation and presentation of various reports, meetings and information sessions.****:

- Provide awareness training presentations to key stakeholders and their roles and responsibilities into mitigating risk.
- Track, compile and report EHS&S open issues related statistics, legislative and corporate requirements.
- Support operations through coordination of safety through a management system.
- Participate in incident investigations as needed.
- Conduct inspections or audits as needed.
- Analyze risk assessments, incidents, and other relative information to help inform relative improves for the risk management program.
- Assist with the presentation of health and safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

**You bring to the role**:

- Post secondary diploma or degree or similar organizational discipline.
- 3-5 years experience
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is preferred
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation.
- Must have proficient computer skills using MS Office suite.
- Familiar with ISO and OHSAS or similar type ‘quality’ standard systems.
- Strong organizational skills, proficient in scheduling programs, database management, document and data control
- Administration and organization of documents.
