Pirate Life Theatre is opening a new location in Barrie and is seeking performers to join our merry band of buccaneers for the fall If you enjoy performing, working with kids, and being on the water, then this is the gig for you

The Show
Pirate Life is a children’s theatre company that performs interactive adventures on a 50ft pirate ship. Each adventure begins with a series of onshore activities led by our performers. Guests are transformed into a pirate crew complete with their own pirate names and tattoos. Then our crew sets sail on our ship for a 1hr interactive show and treasure hunt During our sail around Kempenfelt Bay, audiences are invited to decipher treasure maps, complete challenges, and fend off villainous pirates with our water cannons
Details
- This is a non-union, independent contractor position compensated at a rate of $22.75/hr (Living Wage in Barrie).
- Full-time and part-time positions are available.
- We operate 6 days a week in July and August, and on weekends in May, June, September, and October.
- Rotating cast members perform up to 2 shows per day and take on other responsibilities for 2 shows per day (4 shows total per day).
- At Pirate Life, our cast is our crew All actors must be willing to get their PCOC License and learn to drive a small dinghy for performances. All actors will also need to learn administrative tasks for Front Of House
Job Requirements
- Experience working with/performing for children.
- Comfortable performing outdoors on a moving boat.
- Willing to complete PCOC boating license, drive a small dingy and learn basic boating duties (docking, handling lines, etc.)
- Smart Serve Certified,
- Experience in customer service.

Contract length: 2 months
Pay: $22.75 per hour
Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
