Swim Coach

**About us**

Ponoka Pool Sharks is a Swim Club located in Ponoka, Alberta. Our goal is to provide young swimmers with the opportunity to develop swimming skills through a positive training environment and competition.

Ponoka Pool Sharks is looking for Swim Coaches for our 2023-2024 Season. This is a great opportunity to work with swimmers in a fun, safe environment while also gaining experience in the swimming industry.

Practice time is 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, Monday thru Thursday. The season runs from September to April. Weekend Swim meet coverage as required

**Responsibilities**
- Create and maintain a positive and encouraging environment for swimmers
- Assess swimmers’ needs and match instruction with goals and objectives
- Maintain a working knowledge of competitive swimming
- Develop and implement a program that is age-appropriate, safe, and efficient
- Monitor swimmer progress
- Maintain a professional image at all times

**Experience**
- Coaching 101 Required
- Previous experience working with children in a swimming environment
- Experience supervising swimmers during workouts
- Experience managing a swim team

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 months
Part-time hours: 6 per week

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Weekends as needed

Licence/Certification:

- Coaching 101 certification (preferred)
