King Freight Lines is looking for an experienced Safety, Compliance and Recruitment Manager for our Pictou, NS Terminal.

Applicant should have an excelent understanding of the trucking industry, hours of service and Compliance and full cycle recruitment.

Above average skills with Word, Excel and other office programs essential.

Applicant must be proficient in Hours of service for Canada and US, knowledge of Omnitracs, Shaw and Truckmate would be highly advantagous.

Job duties include but are not limited to:
Attract and recruit employees using a variety of online venues as well as attending job fairs as required.

Succesfully onboard new employees including training requirements, drug testing and all other information required.

Being the main point of contact for employee issues, involving the appropriate department to resolve the issue and respond to the employee in a timely manner.

Create and keep updated, an applicant tracker and prepare reports for senior management on efforts made and results of efforts.

Assist potential new employees navigate through the immigration process when required. A strong knowledge of this process is important.

Test drive potential drivers, Class 1 License required

Schedule all required training for staff. Track and update expiry dates.

Management of WCB claims and return to work.

Create or modify safety manuals, drivers manual, procedures and any other required documents.

Maintain a satisfactory safety rating

Ensure every incident is recorded, documented and follow up conducted including coordinating with the shop and insurance companies regarding cost recovery for incidents. Provide regular status updates to management regarding status and cost recovery efforts.

Lead the OHS committee and ensure compliance.

Responsible for the registrations of all units.

Responsible for the company insurance updates

5-10 years experience is required in a Safety and Recruitment role in the transportation industry.

Applicant must live in the Pictou area and be able to commute to work. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship.
