**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assists with the implementation of the Municipal Electric Vehicle Strategy, specifically the light-duty fleet transition
- Analyzes fleet data and collaborates with depot managers to suggest cost-effective charging solutions
- Develops a multi-year fleet charging deployment plan that includes charging type, budget, quantity and location
- Project manages the design, procurement and installation of chargers while identifying maintenance and operational needs
- Monitors changes in vehicle design and research policies/best practices of other municipalities and ensures operational standards are met while completing the transition
- Supports educational campaigns and workshops to raise awareness and promote the benefits of electric vehicle ownership
- Develops partnerships with utility and private sector to encourage further charging deployment
- Support other clean energy initiatives like our emissions inventory, building energy retrofits, solar and wind policy and programming
- Identifies and advances opportunities to improve understanding and awareness of clean energy with staff, Council and members of the public
- Researches funding streams and develops capital and operational budgets
- Liaises and communicates with environment-related stakeholders and groups, HRM Boards, Committees, Community Councils and Regional Council
- Assists in the preparation of Regional Council Reports and other public documents.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education & Experience**:

- University Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related degree program;
- An applied environment, science, or engineering degree may also be considered;
- A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in directly related environmental science and/or engineering.

**Technical/Job Specific Knowledge and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of environmental sustainability and environmental performance measurement.
- Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations and acts.
- Knowledge of municipal acts, by-laws, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of climate change mitigation and adaptation science, issues, programs and plans.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Knowledge and experience in the public administration of clean energy programs and projects is an asset.
- Knowledge and skills in zero-emission vehicles and their associated charging infrastructure is an asset.
- Financial analysis skills are considered an asset.

**Security Clearance Requirements**:Applicants may be required to complete an employment security screening check.

**WORK STATUS**: Permanent Full-time

**HOURS OF WORK**: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (Flex options to work outside these hours under a hybrid work model may be available)

**SALARY**: Level 10, NSGEU 222 $44.06/hr

**WORK LOCATION**:3rd Floor, 88 Alderney Ferry Terminal, Dartmouth
