**About Us**:
We are JVO Satellite, a close-knit, family-owned business dedicated to delivering reliable satellite TV (Shaw Direct) and internet services (Xplore). With a focus on personalized customer care and exceptional service, we have been serving the Ottawa Valley and parts of rural Quebec for nearly 30 years. We're seeking a skilled and personable contracted Satellite Dish Technician to join our tight-knit team and help us continue providing top-quality customer service and connectivity solutions. Ideally you would be available at least 30 hours in the week (especially in summer) but we are open to more of a part-time availability.
**Requirements For Consideration**:
- Valid driver's liscence
- Basic tools (ex. drill), Satellite meter is a plus but we have them available to rent
- 24-32 foot ladder
- Reliable access to a truck or van
**About The Job**:
We are looking to contract someone in the Pembroke area or surrounding area. Our full coverage area goes from around Stonecliffe along highway 17 through to Carleton Place and Carp and everything in-between. On the Quebec side we go generally as far as Quyon and as north as Otter Lake. You will be driving to various customer's houses and businesses to install, diagnose, or repair satellite dishes and accompanying equipment. We also occasionally have jobs available to mount TVs, install cell phone boosters, and install posts for dish mounting. Although there is a good amount of driving involved, we will keep you within an hour's range of your home starting point. We would be **thrilled** to find someone with a little previous experience working with Shaw Direct for satellite TV or Xplore for satellite internet but we are absolutely willing to train the right person.
The hours vary based on what work is available, and the schedule is fairly flexible surrounding start times and weekend work. Typically our technicians start at 9 or 10 am and work every second weekend unless they'd like to work more. We don't work on holidays, if you'd like to do so it's an option. This is a fairly seasonal industry, there will be less work available in the winter months and it will gradually increase in the spring, our peak months are May - September as people open and close their cottages and trailers for the season
- we service a lot of cottages and campgrounds.
Pay varies depending on where you're doing a job and what the job is for, because we work with a variety of other companies with different pay structures. We have part-time techs who take in $25,000/year and full time techs who take in $75,000 a year, it really depends on how much you'd like to work and what work is available. You'll submit invoices to us that we pay out on a twice monthly basis.
