Rooted in Hospitality and guided by Good Shepherd’s Mission Values of Availability, Adaptability, Quality, Dignity, and Responsibility, the Landlord Tenant Worker will work with service users in developing housing plans that are person directed and include concrete goals and steps required to achieve them.
- Remain current on relevant community resources and to develop and maintain professional relationships with individuals and organizations within the community who provide complementary services
- Liaise with community landlords to develop partnerships to build an inventory of rental units
- Mediate housing related matters between landlords and tenant to support housing sustainability
- Coordinate finances, lease signings, move in inspections, repairs and maintenance to prepare for new tenancy
- Work in collaboration with both the Rapid Rehousing and Intensive Case Management teams to develop housing plans that support rapid exit from homelessness
- Assist service users in navigating various governmental and non-governmental systems
- Support service users in building both formal and informal support networks that will assist them in maintaining housing and enhanced quality of life
- Assist in developing a plan within a brief intervention approach that decreases the likelihood of a future or recurrent housing crises including assisting with connections to other services
- Attend weekly case conferences to share housing information and resources with Rapid Rehousing and Intensive Case Management staff

**Qualifications**
- 2-year related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Post-secondary education in social services or a related field is required
- Understand and utilize person-directed, anti-oppression/anti-racism, and feminist frameworks with a thorough understanding of a range of issues impacting families, youth and women including homelessness, woman abuse, child witnessing, poverty, mental health and substance use/abuse
- Have a strong understand the housing process and familiarity with housing related legislation such as the Residential Tenancies Act, Landlord and Tenant Board, and the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Fluency in a 2ndlanguage is an asset
- CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required
- Possession of a valid Ontario driver’s license (G2) and ability to drive the Good Shepherd vehicle is required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

- **Hours of work**: Shifts are day 9am - 5pm, and one evening shift 11am - 7pm per week. Some flexibility in work hours may be required
