**Gardening Crew Member**

**Reports to**:Gardening Crew Leader

**Purpose**:As a Gardening Crew Member, you love plants, the outdoors, and working in the garden. You value quality workmanship, working together as a team, and maintaining beautiful spaces

**JOB SUMMARY - THE 3R's**

**Role**:Gardening Crew Member

**Responsibility**:
1. Project Execution

2. Quality Workmanship

3. Crew Truck and Trailer Cleanliness

4**. **Machinery, Tools, Small Equipment Care

**Result**:Hutten & Co. is recognized as an expert in horticulture and garden care, while providing property owners with a high level of detailed, professional and trustworthy care.

**METRICS TO MEASURE RESULTS**:

- Estimated vs Actual Job Hours
- 15 Minute Daily Clean/ Grease

**DETAIL OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Project Execution
- Complete all work according to customer and company expectations in terms of aesthetics, beauty and function
- Complete all work according to the Hutten best practices and quality manuals
- Successfully resolve warranty work according to the Hutten Client Care packages
- Operate various tools and equipment, including compact equipment, chainsaws, blowers, trimmers, pruners, wheelbarrows, measurement equipment, shovels, rakes, horticultural implements, etc.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization on jobsites, and shop/yard areas
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Read and interpret landscape designs and specifications to complete work activities
- Work safely and in a responsible manner, with eager participation and initiative
- Demonstrate continuous growth through ongoing education in the field of Horticulture
- Demonstrate active participation in regular team meetings
- Comply with all company policies and regulations and local health and safety regulations
- Communicate to customer professionally, delivering service according to “the Hutten Way”
- Assist crew leader with site consultations, technical support, and collaboration as required
- Complete quality assessments of completed services and property inspections

2. Quality Workmanship
- Complete Property Care and Gardening services to include:

- Edging, spring cleanup of gardens, and mulching
- Ongoing garden management, weeding and plant care
- Fall cleanup of gardens and turf and winterization
- Seasonal and specialized pruning and transplanting
- Fertilizing and pest management
- Seasonal colour (annuals and container plantings)
- Irrigation and lighting maintenance services
- Assist and collaborate with the enhancements team where required with:

- New plantings and garden expansion
- Improvements such as patio repair, cleaning or drainage
- Other enhancements approved by Hutten & Co.

4. Crew Truck and Trailer Cleanliness
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas

5. Machinery, Tools, Small Equipment Care
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
