Under the direction and supervision of a regulated healthcare professional and working within the Interdisciplinary team, the Supportive Living Worker (SLW) provides direct care to assist in the activities of daily living, comfort and safety of the client and provides indirect services to support the overall provision of care in their assigned area. The Supportive Living Aide is a multi-skilled worker providing assistance in such areas as social, recreation, meal preparation and light housekeeping. The Supportive Living Worker embraces the philosophy of person-centred care, demonstrating the principles of the philosophy established within Alberta Health Services policies and procedures and established standards. The disciplinary team, the Supportive Living Worker, recognizes that each client has unique values and personal history and that each person has an equal right to dignity and respect and to participate fully in their environment. **Description**:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain caring relationships with clients and families that demonstrate dignity and respect. Demonstrated command of the English language, both verbal and written. Excellent active listening skills. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with clients.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Supportive Pathways training an asset. Previous Health Care Aide experience is an asset. Related experience working with the elderly or physically challenged individuals is an asset.
