Under the direction of the Social Worker Lead, the Social Worker will be an important member of a multidisciplinary team within the Special Education and Student Services department.

**Responsibilities will include (but not limited to)**:

- Counseling and intervention strategies to address situations which may adversely affect the social, emotional, behavioural and academic development of students
- Consulting and engagement with both parents and students
- Capacity building with the education staff
- Consulting with board personnel and liaising with community agencies
- Conducting professional development as required
- Addressing attendance issues
- Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor

**Qualifications**
- Master of Social Work Degree
- Member of the Ontario College of Social Workers
- Six years of related experience
- A valid Ontario driver’s license (the use of a personal vehicle will be required)
- Proficiency with the operation of a variety of computer equipment
- Sound judgment and analytical ability
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

**The following would be considered an asset**:
Familiarity with the education environment
Experience working with racialized youth and their families

The hourly rate would vary between $45.74 - $58.28 plus 4% vacation pay, depending on education and experience.
