Effective July 4, 2023, a new position for a Developmental Paediatrician is available in the Division of Developmental Paediatrics, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, which is an academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children with special needs, affiliated with the University of Toronto. We are recruiting a Developmental Paediatrician (or equivalent) with an academic career committment and clinical experience focused on children and youth with autism and other disorders. As an integral member of our team, your responsibilities will include the provision of clinical care, teaching, and/or the opportunity to participate in quality initiatives or research.

The successful applicant must be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Paediatrics (or equivalent). Completion of a Subspecialty Training/Fellowship in Developmental Paediatrics, or equivalent academic experience is mandatory. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is Canada’s largest children’s rehabilitation hospital and is home to the Bloorview Research Institute. We are a provincial facility that sees more than 7,500 children and youth on an outpatient basis, and we have over 600 inpatient admissions each year. We serve young people from birth to 19 years old with disabilities, rehabilitation needs and complex health and developmental needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Role accountabilities will be divided 70% clinical time and 30% academic time
- Clinical duties will include consultation and patient care in the area of developmental disorders
- Involved in the training of students/residents
- On-call responsibilities including providing inpatient coverage

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Certificate or fellowship in Paediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent.
- Subspecialty Residency or Fellowship completion in Developmental Paediatrics or equivalent academic experience is mandatory
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of the Centre’s Vision, Values and Mandate.
- Family/client centred approach

The successful applicant will join the Division of Developmental Pediatrics, comprised of developmental pediatricians, pediatricians, pediatric neurologists, and a pediatric respirologist, in providing interprofessional care for children with a variety of developmental disabilities. Holland Bloorview offers inpatient and outpatient assessment and services for children/youth with autism, cerebral palsy, acquired brain injuries, neuromuscular and neurogenetic conditions, spina bifida, cognitive and motor disabilities, including learning disabilities, intellectual disability, ADHD, speech-language disorders. The successful applicant will work in a family centered environment providing integrated care to children/youth and their families within a highly skilled team of health professionals. This individual will also demonstrate a commitment to and understanding of the Hospital’s Vision, Values and Mandate.
