**Hourly Pay Rate Range**: $63,437 - $78,953.58

**Start Date**: Immediate

**End Date**: August 30, 2024

**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager - Financial Services, the Officer - Procurement will:
Support all facets of procurement administration;
Compile, track and maintain contract listing and contract requirements (e.g. insurance certificates, WSIB, health and safety requirements, etc.);
Work with department staff to facilitate the creation and maintenance of online catalogues;
Provide supplier pricing and product/service information requested by schools/departments to assist with purchasing/buying decisions.

Provide regular support to schools and departments related to procurement activities;
Prepare and maintain system-wide inventory of classroom furniture and assist with the classroom furniture management;
Administer activities related to the disposal of surplus furniture and equipment according to the policy;
Assist with periodic reporting requirements for internal and external parties;
Liaise with external vendors and suppliers as required and identify where contractual responsibilities are not being met;
Coordinate system level shipping, receiving and delivery of various commodity needs with vendors and suppliers;
Follow relevant departmental policies, procedures and practices;
Comply with and maintain knowledge of applicable rules, legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices related to Broader Public Sector Procurement;
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Business, Commerce and/or related discipline, or equivalent;
Certificate in Purchasing or professional development related to Purchasing considered an asset;
Related experience in a public sector environment considered an asset;
Demonstrated ability to work independently while handling a variety of tasks with multiple priorities and strict deadlines;
Proven ability to think strategically and analytically;
Strong organizational, time management and problem solving abilities;
Proven interpersonal skills exhibiting diplomacy, constructive team-based skills and abilities;
Proficiency in computer software programs, including MS Word and Excel;
Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle as travel is required.
