In line with creating a strong culture of promoting from within and focusing on employee development and progression, we are currently recruiting internally for the position of **_Supervisor
- Occupational Health and Safety._**
**This position is for the Eastern region.**
**Job Description: Supervisor - Occupational Health and Safety - Eastern Canada**
**Reports to: Director of Occupational Health and Safety**
**Primary**:
- Conduct safety meetings, review compliance and near misses with operations staff
- Conduct minimum of 20 Compliance Audits monthly
- Focus on in-field operations presence with a high focus on coaching and mentoring to create a continuous environment of safety first
- Conduct field safety meetings and site visits as required to promote education
- Administer safety and compliance manuals and tools for each company position (Foreman, Operators, and Labourers)
- Investigate all injuries and accidents, ensure root cause analysis is complete and recommend corrective actions address the situation
- Coach and mentor all employees to understand the seriousness of incidents and/or recommend discipline
- Administer internal auditing process to ensure “at risk” employees and trends are identified
- Participate in the administration of REMCAN’s Commercial Vehicle Safety Plan
- Roll out Safety & Compliance programs
- Support Supervisor Training to identify training needs, develop and execute plans
- Work with customer risk management groups and company officers to ensure safety management systems specific to their needs
- 60% travel expected*
**Secondary**:
- Ensure all safety designations required by specific clients are being met
- Work with other members of the Safety & Compliance Team to develop a high level of cross training
- Participate in and conduct new hire interviews as required
- Attend and actively participate in weekly operations meetings/calls
- Review all employee’s work site certifications to ensure they remain in good standing
- Implement and manage workplace Health & Safety Committees as directed

**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Minimum 3 years railway industry experience
