**Responsibilities**:

- Control, direct, and instruct students/pedestrians in crossing the street
- Encourage patterns of safe behaviour by pedestrians/students when crossing the roadway
- Discourage unsafe behaviours by all pedestrians/students, as necessary
- Remain standing at your post during hours of duty
- Never leave you post during hours of duty
- Maintain a positive, professional manner to set a good example and gain respect of the community members

and children
- Report any concerns and/or incidents to the school principal at the earliest possible time

**Qualifications**:

- Vision and hearing sufficient to perceive potential traffic hazards
- Ability to hold a hand-held stop sign for extended periods of time
- Basic First Aid training an asset
- Good communication, observation, and documentation skills

As a condition of employment, all new hires must complete a satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable
sector search, and child abuse registry check as part of the hiring process.
