**Description:

**Responsibilities**: As a member of the Purchasing Director’s team, the Category Manager provides expertise in the following ways**:
- Develops procurement and optimization strategies, specific to his/her category (product, goods and services) with the various business units;
- Takes into account high revenue, high margin and high growth products to ensure a better return on investment while meeting the needs of our customers;
- Participates in the development of forecasts for all products and in the analysis of inventories (launch, transition) in order to avoid debalances;
- Negotiates agreements, contracts or programs with the suppliers (existing and/or new) assigned to him/her and manages the current relations with them according to the established agreements;
- Maintains the management of supplier programs and/or contracts on a regular basis and ensures timely payment of incentives;
- Manages the cost price of products from its suppliers and manages the price variation process that may occur;
- Ensures a competitive sales price structure for the products in its categories according to the different markets;
- Carries out a market watch. Remains on the lookout for opportunities presented by our current suppliers, competitors or potential new suppliers in order to maximize our profitability and reduce risk;
- Acts as a category expert and performs market surveillance to anticipate trends;
- Supports the Procurement Technicians in dealing with various operational issues that may threaten the ongoing supply of its suppliers;
- Performs supplier performance analysis according to the established Scorecard and addresses any discrepancies with the suppliers concerned;
**Requirements**: To perform you must**:
- Have a university degree in administration or other equivalent training;
- Have at least 5 years of experience in category management;
- Bilingualism (English and French, spoken and written);
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
- Knowledge of chemical products will be considered an asset;
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills;
- Rigor and meticulousness;
- Proactivity, team spirit and autonomy.
