**Position Scope**:
- Install, certify, and commission new BSCs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and testing of BSCs to optimize performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and airflow issues in BSCs and laboratory equipment.
- Perform timely repairs and replacements of faulty components to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Execute airflow velocity tests, HEPA filter integrity testing, and other performance verification procedures with precision.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventory, and service history for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Deliver technical support and training to laboratory personnel on proper BSC usage, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Stay informed about advances in BSC technology, industry regulations, and best practices to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Assist in other technical duties as required

**Qualifications**:
- Post-Secondary Diploma in an applicable Engineering Technician program (Electronic/Electromedical/Mechanical) from a recognized institution, preference to CCTT Accredited programs.
- C.Tech. Certification (or eligibility) through Provincial Technology Society (NS -TechNova, NB- NBSCETT etc.) is an asset
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in BSC maintenance and laboratory equipment servicing.
- Certification in BSC maintenance and repair (e.g., NSF/ANSI 49, NEBB, or equivalent)
- Comprehensive understanding of airflow dynamics, HEPA filtration, and biosafety principles.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues in laboratory equipment.
