Load and unload directional drill equipment in a manner that is secure and damage free
- Transport associated tools, materials and/or equipment in a safe manner
- Complete Driver’s logbook & daily vehicle inspection (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, accident, or incident reports
- Complete a daily inspection on equipment prior to commencing work
- Prepare the drill fluid based on site conditions prior to boring commencing
- In conjunction with locator, operate the directional drill using the selected bore heads and back reamers to place cables and / or duct
- Trouble shoot any equipment issues and relay to service technician for assistance or resolution
- Able to operate the drill locater as required
- Other duties as required

**SKILLS**:

- Must have similar previous drilling experience and working around existing buried utilities
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
- Must be able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be fully proficient with CVOR and Book 7 requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable Health and Safety training as per legislative and job requirements.
- Performs box locating, directional drilling, installation of conduits for various cables, installation of pedestals and concrete bases, flushmount vaults and enclosures
- Safely operates directional drilling equipment and locating tools
- Coordinates drilling activities with other activities, positioning or moving of loads and conduct in response to hand or audio signals from team members
- Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, CVOR guidelines and acting in a safe manner at all times
- Complete all required paperwork daily
- Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites

Qualifications:

- Must have previous directional drilling/locating experience preferably
- Previous experience in telecommunications is an asset
- Must have and maintain a clean driver’s abstract and CVOR
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision

Working Conditions:

- Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
