**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Community Family Services of Ontario offers linguistically sensitive and culturally responsive counselling, psychotherapy, family therapy, newcomer settlement, disabilities and special needs services to enhance the functioning and the quality of life of individuals and families of East Asian descent in Ontario.

**Position Title**:Settlement Program Manager

**Position Type**: Contract Full-Time, till October 2025, maternity leave coverage

**Start Date**: Immediately

**Supervised by**: Executive Director

**Major Responsibilities**
- Provide settlement and sector advice to Executive Director to ensure sustainable quality and compliance.
- Advise and supervise a team of settlement workers on operations, professional training & risk mitigation.
- Practice settlement services by conducting one-on-one needs assessments, information and orientation, case management, referrals, program development, event planning, and community outreach for clients, and maintain documentation and reporting according to college, funder, and accreditation requirements.
- Manage, plan, and monitor agency operations and programs as members of the management team.
- Participate in recruitment, training, and resource development for the agency.
- Act as the resource person for the most updated industry best practices, immigration policies, funder, college, legal & accreditation standards; to ensure compliance implementation and staff training.
- Act as agency liaison for external settlement service organizations, partners, and funders
- Act as ambassador for agency’s settlement practice via participation in research, media interviews, public education, staff education, and marketing according to agency’s strategic plan.
- Assist the Executive Director with funder reporting process and proposal writing for funding.
- Maintain strict confidentiality as outlined in agency privacy and confidentiality policy.
- Supervise students and volunteers.
- Other duty/assignment as reasonably assigned by the Executive Director.

**Qualifications**
- University Bachelor degree or above in a Social Work, Immigrant Settlement or an equivalent field.

**- MUST HAVE 5 years of experience in Canadian settlement work & 2 years in progressive management duties.**
- Knowledge of sensitivity and commitment to serving the Chinese community in Ontario.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations around immigration, refugee, and citizenship.
- Fluency in Verbal & Written English & Mandarin &/or Cantonese. Other Asian languages are assets.
- Proficiency in MS Office software programs and usage of Internet.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills; as individual and in a team.
- Flexibility and willingness to work days / evenings, and occasional weekends as required.
- Registered in OCSWSSW as Social Worker and in Good Standing; Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance.
