Stuart Olson is currently seeking a Mobile Crane Operator for a an immediate start date and long term opportunity at our client site in Fort McMurray, AB. Working a 7 on, 7 off, 11.5 hours/day. Camp accommodations provided. Flights from Edmonton or Calgary hubs.

**Responsibilities**
- Proper crane setup in and around overhead powerline as well as substation equipment.
- Proper crane setup on uneven ground, especially while working on powerline right of ways.
- Plan and perform two crane lifts of loads such as long, heavy power poles.
- Lift men and tools to pole or structure tops in man-basket.
- Weigh materials to determine load weight and ensure compliance with lifting specifications.
- Conduct inspection of crane mechanism and lifting components to ensure parts are in working order.
- Liaise with helpers and ground workers who provide direction assistance through radio communication or hand signals.
- Inspect cables and grappling assembly to identify wear and facilitate replacement.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain the moving parts of a crane such as the cables, pulley or grappling mechanism.
- Load or unload shipment of heavy duty machinery or material from trucks.
- Review work orders and schedules to determine sequence of operations.
- Inspect bundles or shipment to ensure conformance to company regulations or customer requirements.
- Signal and direct truck drivers to properly back vehicles into loading or unloading bay.
- Move, lift, and position equipment, machinery or heavy materials with the aid of hook, bucket or electromagnet.
- Provide report of work operations by completing relevant paperwork.
- Direct helpers to place blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy materials.
- Move levers and pedals to rotate crane on chassis or raise or lower crane boom/load line.
- Work within set standards of accuracy and precision.

**Qualifications**
- Journeyman Crane and Hoisting Equipment Operator ticket
- Zoom Boom ticket, required
- 3 years’ training under an experienced crane operator
- Previous experience operating mobile cranes for 65T, 30T, 15T carry deck classes
- H2S Alive, Mandatory
- CSTS-09 or OSSA BSO or PST or SCOT or CSO, Mandatory
- Fall Protection, Mandatory
- Confined Space Entry Monitor, Mandatory
- Pre-access Drug and Alcohol testing

**Physical Requirements**
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
- Withstand equipment vibration
- Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp

**Working Conditions**
- Working in and around noise and dust
- Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
- Must be clean shaven
- Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,
