As a **Geoscientist, **you will join our **Calgary, Alberta** office as part of our Hydrogeology team.
The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:
- Active participation in maintaining Matrix’s strong safety culture
- Manage various projects for a diverse group of clients focusing on lithium brine exploration firms, including: work plan development, resource allocation, budget/cost control, schedule tracking, report preparation, technical direction and review, and proactive client management
- Provide technical and project management support for a wide range of hydrogeology projects including: Subsurface lithium brine resource assessments and NI 43-101 technical reports, regional and local hydrogeological assessments for water supply, disposal and contaminated sites, and regulatory groundwater monitoring programs
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team focused on being the trusted advisor to our clients
- Develop conceptual models to support decision-making utilizing a variety of tools such as GIS, geophysics, and numerical modelling
- Oversee and facilitate objective driven data collection
- Analyze results and communicate project findings through technical reports and presentations to a variety of stakeholders
- Manage project timelines and budgets ensuring a high quality product for our clients
- Mentor junior team members
**What We Are Looking For**
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in Geology, Geophysics, Hydrogeology, or a related field
- A minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience
- Previous experience in consulting is required
- Professional Geoscientist, or eligibility to register as a Professional Geoscientist with APEGA, EGBC, or APEGS, is required
- Specific experience relevant to lithium brine resource assessment would be a strong asset including: carbonate sedimentology, subsurface mapping, petroleum hydrodynamics, geochemistry, and/or geomodelling
- Excellent problem-solving ability and effective project management skills
- Working knowledge of databases/GIS/3D Visualization tools
- Experience writing technical reports and giving presentations to multi-stakeholder groups
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a collaborative attitude
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment
- A valid class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions and a clean driving record
