The** Quality Control Technician**, reporting to the Quality Manager, will be part of the Quality Team and can be responsible for a number of the duties listed below, but not limited to, as directed by the Quality Manager.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Working to the Company's ISO Quality Management System.
- Inspection of incoming/received goods, first article inspections, in-process and final inspections.
- Uses various measuring instruments as such outside and inside micrometers, vernier calipers, hardness durometers, pi tapes, height gauges, indicators and a portable CMM for inspection and testing verifying product conformance.
- Prepares/maintains/reviews and issues documented information. Examples include customer requested inspection reports, material test reports, and certificates of compliance.
- Material Testing, including mechanical tensile testing, hardness testing, x-ray testing, impact testing, swell testing and compression testing.
- Works with Third Party Inspectors and Class Surveyors (i.e. LR, ABS, DNV).
- Proactively looks after assigned tasks and anticipates needs with minimum supervision.
- Issues and follows up on Internal and Supplier non-conformances and closing out corrective actions.
- May perform the calibration of measurement gauges.
- May perform Non-destructive Ultrasonic and Liquid Penetrant Inspections.
- Maybe part of Internal and Supplier corrective action Teams.
- React well under pressure and can multitask and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide Quality Team support to all departments within the organization such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Inside Sales, Global Service & Support, New Product Development and Purchasing.

**Minimum Requirements**
- Practical work experience in a Manufacturing or Machining environment.
- ASQC Certified Quality Inspector, Mechanical Engineering Technician or Technologist Diploma an asset.
- Must have proven hands-on competency using measurement gauges as such inside and outside micrometers, vernier calipers and height gauges.
- Must be able to select gages according to the feature or characteristic to be measured based on specified tolerances.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required**
- Coordinate Measuring Machine Experience (CMM).
- Trained Auditor.
- Non-destructive Testing in Liquid Penetrate and/or Ultrasonic inspection.
- Knowledge of Welding (procedures, inspection).
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
- Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint).
- Experience using AutoCAD/Solid Works and Solid Works Inspection.
