Connecting with residents and providing them with quality and compassionate care, the Personal Support Worker supports a balanced and enjoyable lifestyle for all residents. The PSW provides personal care and other support services to residents in a safe and efficient manner, according to the policies and procedures of the retirement residence.

Under the new Livita umbrella, we live by the motto that a balanced lifestyle is a better lifestyle, for both residents and staff.Please note that there are shift premiums for both evenings, nights and weekends.

**The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to**:

- Maintaining the overall wellness of the home and its residents over night
- Connecting with residents and assisting them with their special care needs
- Responsible for medication administration for 50% of shifts
- Responds to emergencies in a timely and professional manor
- Delivering weekly showers assistance for residents
- Providing dietary services aid as needed
- Complete daily infection control duties to ensure the safety and well being of all residents, team members and visitors
- Provides personal laundry services for residents in accordance with established work routines;
- Operates, cleans and maintains equipment, furniture and resident living areas
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Previous work experience in providing laundry, food or personal care services;
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent;
- Post secondary education in related care fields [e.g. Personal Support Worker (PSW), Health Care Aide (HCA) or Developmental Services Worker (DSW) certification] is preferred;
- Ability to read and communicate effectively;
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions;
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors;
- Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills;
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints;
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness;
- Must be able to operate related equipment.

**Salary**: $17.27-$18.93 per hour
