EFRY Hope and Help for Women empowers women and girls through a trauma-informed, inclusive, and gender responsive lens. Our client-focused approach strengthens emotional, cultural and social well-being through prevention, support, reintegration, and advocacy.

**Agency Inclusion Facilitator**

Fulltime, Contract Anticipated Start Date: Dec 2024

Program Facilitator at the Vanier Correctional Centre for Women in Milton. These programs are provided in a group format and are aimed to introduce women in conflict with the law, concepts used to address areas in substance use, anger management, anti-criminal thinking, healthy relationships and basic life skills. These programs are delivered daily in 60-90 minute segments based on a monthly schedule provided by EFry Hope and Help for Women.

Areas of Responsibility:

- Manage and facilitates the operation of psychoeducational group programming, with activities that will assist participants in their emotional, social and educational development.
- Provide support to participants during program activities and encourages increased independence and self-reliance.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with the Ministry of Solicitor General and community partners, and participants to ensure a healthy working environment.
- Participates in onsite and offsite trainings, workshops, conferences, and continued professional development.
- Manages database for tracking participants’ attendance, demographics, and programming scheduling
- Provides monthly statistic reports and board reports to Senior Caseworker.
- Provided additional support, coverage and programming for agency as needed
- Facilitate internal agency virtual programing
- Carry out additional responsibilities as directed by the Manager or designate.
- Check-ins with Senior Caseworker to discuss programs, challenges, collaborations and complete various administrative tasks required by Vanier Centre for Women for EFry Hope and Help for Women.
- A degree and/or diploma from a University or College in a related field with 3-5 years’ experience working with a population of those involved with and affected by the criminal justice system
- Proved and distinguished experience facilitating groups of different topics and/or themes to a number of individuals with diverse lived experiences and levels of conception
- A background in engagement of other services and/or opportunities, as it relates to addressing the mental health needs of women
- A demonstrated awareness of the policies and procedures within a provincial institution and the ability to work within and amongst an external stakeholders’ policies and procedures
- The ability to maintain and encourage confident assessment, counselling and program facilitation skills in order to effectively interact with clients using a trauma-informed approach
- A demonstrated ability to employ empathy, tact, sensitivity and a high-level understanding of the challenges faced while working with incarcerated women
- Practical knowledge and experience facilitating gender specific and responsive programming
- Excellent problem solving and leadership skills, with the ability to judiciously handle potential crisis situations with clients
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well and collaborate with diverse community groups and other stakeholders
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- A valid CPR and First Aid Certification
- Proficiency in the French language is considered an asset
