Location: 6672 Wadams Way, Sooke BC

Hours: 35-40 hours per week, for 12 months

Union: This position requires union membership

**Job Summary**:
The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing mental health clinical assessment and treatment services to the public requiring mental health services and brief psychotherapy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintain client caseload based on referrals from the community.

2. Complete intake and clinical assessment of all clients in a timely manner.

3. Develop and implement therapeutic plans for each client.

4. Provide short-term individual treatment interventions as per the therapeutic plans for each client.

5. Maintain effective relationships with Government bodies and community partners as they pertain to the program.

6. Maintain statistical data on clients as required by the program manager.

7. Attend team meetings, training days and the SFRS Annual General Meeting.

8. Maintain knowledge of available programs, their interrelationships, and their

function in delivering care in the community to persons with mental illness, addictions and/or concurrent disorders.

9. Maintain knowledge of psychiatric disorders and relevant legislative acts (I.e., The Mental Health Act).

10. Perform other related duties as required.

**Education & Experience**:
Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or in an associated discipline.

**Skills**:
Two (2) years minimum experience related to adult and youth clinical mental health services, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $38.93-$44.69 per hour
