**Position Summary**:
The Mechanical Draftsperson will produce engineering designs, drawings and related technical information for marine projects, supporting an interdisciplinary team of engineers and naval architects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
- Operate AutoCAD and Solidworks to produce technical drawings for marine mechanical machinery, parts, and systems.
- Develop and prepare design sketches.
- Complete quality control tests for designed mechanical machinery, parts, and equipment.
- Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
- Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
- Write technical reports.
- Prepare contracts and tender documents.
- Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Completion of postsecondary school is required.
- Completion of a four-year engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2+ experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Draftsperson in the Heavy Industry Sector
- Ability to use AutoCAD 2D and Solidworks software to produce drawings.
- Proven experience in quality control as it pertains mechanical systems and equipment.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics.
- Ability to produce technical reports.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

**Terms of Employment**: Permanent, Fulltime

**Salary**: $34.25 to $38 per hour
