If so, consider this exciting opportunity with the Compliance Branch to lead investigations under statutes administered by the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

Please note this position will require occasional travel. Valid G Drivers License will be preferred.

**About The Compliance Branch and the Section**
- Providing strategic and operational leadership in a wide range of audit, review and general enforcement functions to ensure compliance with tax statutes and benefits administered by the Ministry of Finance
- Tobacco investigations and inspections, raw leaf tobacco issues, investigating leads from various sources, fuel inspections
- Forensic accounting, forensic data recovery and inspections activities for various tax statutes

Optimizing voluntary compliance using risk assessment methods to strengthen audit and inspection enforcement activities
- Overseeing the administrative support functions in the regional offices
- Coordinating the financial planning, management tracking/reporting processes, in support of the branch's business

The Branch's main business programs are: Audit, Risk Assessment, Investigations, Inspections, and Business Operations with approximately 300+ staff located in several offices across the province including, Thunder Bay, Ottawa, London, Hamilton, Windsor, Toronto, and Oshawa.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: Reporting to the Senior Manager of Investigations, you will:

- Lead, guide, coordinate and manage the activities of investigators and senior investigators assigned to conduct investigations relating to all or specific areas of tax and grant programs administered by the Ministry, including intelligence gathering.
- Advise senior management on operational/program matters, including recommending changes to policies, procedures or legislation due to emerging trends and/or identification of policy and/or intelligence gaps in investigations.
- Liaison, plan, manage and coordinate joint forces operations and intelligence initiatives with other enforcement bodies.
- Brief and advise senior management on operational/program matters, including recommending changes to policies, procedures or legislation due to emerging trends or policy/intelligence gaps as a result of investigations.
- Represent the branch and deliver presentations to ministry staff and to enforcement jurisdictions on enforcement initiatives (e.g. Tobacco Outreach program) and intelligence gathering to advance investigation activity and maintain/build upon relationships with partner organizations.
