Heavy Haul Lowboy/winch Truck Driver

Thompson Construction Group is currently looking for Heavy Haul Lowboy/Winch Truck Drivers responsible for operating a truck & trailer for the transportation of construction equipment and materials in our Spruce Grove operations area.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operating tractor and lowboy equipment trailers, moving equipment and materials between various projects in Ft McMurray and surrounding area.
- Deliver equipment and other material as determined by the Supervisor.
- Safely load and unload equipment and secure loads for transportation as required.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks to proactively identify any potential mechanical issues and advise the Supervisor.
- Keep truck in a clean and professional condition at all times.
- Complete accurate daily pre-inspections and post-inspections regulatory logs, Field Level Hazard Assessment sheets for all worksites, transportation timesheets and submit to the Supervisor.
- Behave in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their co-workers and others on the work sites.
- Attend and participate in toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled.
- Report unsafe work, unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries and near misses to supervisor and participate in the investigative process.
- Comply with established company and client policies and procedures and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required.
- Assist other employees when required.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience moving Heavy Equipment.
- Must be able to drive standard transmission (18 speed).
- Active Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) Certification.
- Ability to identify and describe mechanical issues on the truck/trailer.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment.
- Self-motivated and able to complete tasks with mínimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic with demonstrated dedication and reliability.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Must be able to work as a member of a greater team.
- Willingness to work in the Ft McMurray area and live in remote camps, working a rotational schedule.
- CSTS/OSSA or BSO Certification, or ESC CSO certification.
- Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned.
- Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test.
