We are currently seeking the following **Powerline Technicians** to join our team in Saint John, New Brunswick:

The primary purpose of the Powerline Technician is to perform all work in connection with the restoration of electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution system equipment, lines, apparatus, and substations following an emergency event.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Install, maintain, remove, restore steel, wood, composite or concrete poles, towers, and structures for powerlines;
- Sets and guys poles and pulls cables;
- Installs and maintains conductors and associated equipment;
- Makes cuts and connections on low and high voltage lines;
- Adheres to all safety standards by following approved safe work plans; and,
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**:

- Powerline Technician Trade Certification;
- Preferred 5+ years of experience working in high voltage transmission and/or distribution powerline and substation construction as a Journey-Certified Powerline Technician;
- Must be able to work from heights and climb poles/structures;
- Must be able to climb poles and structures of any height;
- Must be able to work in Class 2 and 3 rubber gloves and sleeves;
- Experience with hot distribution work would be considered an asset;
- Must have a safety-minded approach to performing daily tasks;
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills;
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity; and,
- Valid Driver’s License and Passport.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Frequent travel; and,
- Working outside for long hours in all weather conditions, sometimes in remote areas.
